At Zero’s Subs, we have perfected our superior product quality and franchise concept over the last 50 years. Zero’s Subs has been awarded the prestigious “Best of the Beach” award from the readers of the Virginian Pilot Newspaper for many years. Zero’s also won the “Reader’s Choice” and the “Best of Hampton Roads” awards numerous times.
In 1967, Gene Schmidt started Zero’s Subs. He wanted to build a chain of sub shops that offered an alternative approach to fast food. His approach was simple: hot oven-baked submarine sandwiches, made to order with quality ingredients and a level of service that would become Zero’s Subs’ banner of excellence. In 1969, Gene was joined by his cousin, Martin Palacios, and his brother, John Schmidt, who shared in Gene’s belief for high quality, friendly service, and outstanding value.
Zero’s Subs is proud of over 50 years of successful, prosperous business and continues to make changes to reflect the changing times and trends.
